Anna Chromy is a sculptor and painter, born in Bohemia (Czech Republic). She grew up in Austria, has been living in France and works in Italy. Her most famous work of art is undoubtedly “Le Manteau Vide”, “The Empty Coat” in English, also known as “Le Manteau de la Conscience”, or “Pietà”, or “Commandeur”.

“The Empty Coat” was presented in 2008 to Pope Benedict XVI in Roma, and exhibited in numerous exclusive places, particularly in Monaco, to the great delight of her close friend, His Serene Highness Prince Albert of Monaco.

Anna Chromy draws inspiration from music, especially opera, classical dance and ancient myths.

Her paintings highlight her great admiration for Salvador Dali, for the Surrealist painters, refer to the Viennese School of Fantastic Realism and other movements from Central Europe, with the color style, which sometimes remind us of William Turner.
