BMW 100th Anniversary and Michel Vaillant Exhibition

at the Cine Arts Charity Gala 2016

Following this event, BMW will launch a world tour to celebrate its 100 years of working in various other countries and will make stops in China, UK and USA. First will be Beijing, followed by London, where two other Vision Vehicles from BMW Group’s Rolls Royce and MINI brands will join BMW. After London, BMW will travel to Los Angeles, where the quartet of Vision Vehicles will be completed by a newcomer from BMW’s Motorrad Division.

If you haven’t heard, BMW is celebrating its centenary this year. However, it’s not content to go down in the history books as a brand that aged gracefully but rather, is dying those grey hairs orange and dressing up for a night on the town. In other words, BMW threw a huge bash in Munich at the BMW Group Centenary Event and pulled the cover off a bold new concept that lays bare the brand’s vision for the next 100 years of BMW… or at least the foreseeable future.

BMW’s inspiration for the future of mobility will be displayed with “Iconic Impulses. The BMW Group Future Experience”. The exhibition presents the company’s holistic view of future individual mobility – a perspective that sees the BMW Group and its brands continuing to create positive, emotional and personal experiences for its customers to enjoy. The four future trends that this exhibition will explore will be, the opportunities opened up through digitalization and connectivity, the increasing role of technology in our lives, BMW Group’s vision of a sustainable future and the company’s commitment to expand its efforts as a good corporate citizen.

In this occasion, BMW supports the Wheeling Around the World Foundation in organizing its Annual Charity Gala at the Majestic Barriere Hotel, Cannes. The legendary BMW Z4 GT3 will be exhibited at the Gala. The car, driven by Timo Glock, Bruno Spengler and Alex Zanardi at the 2015 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, is now represented to public in all new colors inspired by Michel Vaillant, the famous comic series by Jean Graton.

For the fans of Formula 1, cars and comic books, Cine-Arts Gala on May 20th will also host the “Michel Vaillant Art Strips”, an adaption of the comic of Jean Graton. The collection was reworked and enhanced by Dominique Graton, daughter-in-law of Jean Graton, director of the Jean Graton Foundation.
