Cannes 2016
In the context of the 69th Edition of Cannes International Film Festival, VIP Belgium, lead by Alexandre Bodart Pinto, has presented itself one more time in the festive universe of Cannes by organizing the Cine-Arts charity gala to benefit the Wheeling Around the World foundation.
Before the gala, an official delegation of WAW foundation was invited to ascend the Red Carpet of the Film Festival. Alexandre Bodart Pinto, accompanied by numerous international stars presented in Cannes like actor Abel Jafri, Katia Tchenko, Bernard Menez, director Euzhan Palcy, Leee John (singer of legendary group Imagination), Gregory Bakian, TV presenter Christophe Beaugrand and artist Anis Dargaa climbed the 24 famous steps of the Palais des Festivals to support the foundation and to demonstrate that “Nothing is impossible to the one who walks within his head…” – Slogan of the foundation.
During the evening, there was show of the world’s unique sound imitator Gennady Tkachenko-Papizh - the star of Georgia’s and Ukraine’s Got Talent who is known
Following the shows was an auction orchestrated by Maître Pierre Cornette de Saint-Cyr to benefit the WAW foundation.
To close off the evening, an exclusive concert of Leee John, leading singer of the legendary band Imagination has literally ignited the dance floor.
The event was also the chance to honor famous artists excellent in the fields of painting, sculpture, photography… and to promote talented ones: Manuel Mendive, Jose-Maria David, Anis Dargaa, Fabrice Ginero, Glenn Bracke, Michel Vaillant Art Strips, Ina Dederer, Max Rovira, Julien Garcia, Erik Black Painting, Michael Granja, etc.
Christophe Beaugrand and Sonia Houles as master of the ceremony presented the event with their exceptional talent and sense of humor.
Philippe Streiff, former Formula 1 pilot, founder of Masters Karting Paris Bercy competition, honored us with his presence as the Honorary Chair of the Gala. Left quadriplegic after a dramatic accident during the 1989 Brazilian Grand Prix practice, Philippe, however, has never stopped following his love and passion for cars and life. His presence at the Gala put an emphasis on automobile theme with the exhibition of the unique racing car BMW Z4 GT3 redecorated with Michel Vaillant’s characters.
Alexandre Bodart Pinto was chosen by the artists to receive the Dargaa D’or trophy created by Anis Dargaa, for his contribution and tireless fights as a spokesperson for accessibility and people with reduced mobility.

Benefits from the gala was donated to WAW foundation to fuel its projects and missions. The foundation aims to facilitate, to realize missions around the world, to improve accessibility conditions, as to raise public awareness about mobility issues, to lobby, as well as to convince people with reduced mobility to travel more.
