FOUNDATION

Wheeling Around the World

The foundation:

Wheeling Around the World (WAW) has been since 2013 the spokesperson for people with reduced mobility, with regard to holidays and business trips.

When it comes to travel, by land or sea, family trips, the opportunity to immerse oneself in a cultural experience, etc., WAW aims to change mentalities and raise awareness. It is important that the tourist industry and institutions have a general understanding of the need to make public places, transport and housing accessible to the greatest number of people.

The foundation wants to shift the perception and prove to everyone that "nothing is impossible to the one who walks within his head" (our slogan), whether by developing projects, supporting other associations, taking part in one-off actions, conducting missions around the world or participating in the media.

An exciting new project:

Wheeling Around the World's new mission is the creation of a large motorhome, a coach that will enable people with reduced mobility to travel easily throughout Europe and offer the possibility of going on holiday to those who cannot afford it.

With a capacity for six people, the motorhome will be fully customized to accommodate one or more people in wheelchairs and their families or friends. It will be equipped with a master bedroom, two separate beds, a sofa bed, an accessible bathroom, a kitchenette and a relaxation area.

Driven by professional drivers, the Wheeling Around the World motorhome will be able to travel throughout Europe with a different group every week. It offers total freedom of movement, allowing participants to tailor their trip according to their wishes, without having to worry about finding accessible accommodation during each stage of the journey.

This type of large accessible motorhome is already available in the United States and Australia, but it does not exist in Europe. The foundation therefore relies on charitable events and the generosity of partners, sponsors and donors to finance the project - the total cost is approximately €750,000.

The foundation also wants to use this motorhome as a powerful means of communication and lobbying at international level.
