Michel Vaillant Art Strips
and the BMW Michel Vaillant Edition
For the fans of Formula 1, cars and comics, Cine-Arts Gala on May 20th will host the “Michel Vaillant Art Strips”, an adaption of the comic of Jean Graton. The collection was reworked and enhanced by Dominique Graton, daughter-in-law of Jean Graton, director of the Jean Graton Foundation.
Best of all, the BMW Z4 GT3 driven by Timo Glock, Bruno Spengler and Alex Zanardi at the 2015 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, will also be at the Gala. The bonnet of the car features cartoon-style portraits of the three BMW drivers Zanardi, Glock and Spengler, with the caption “Vrooaaw” written on the side of the car. The car will remind of fictitious racing driver Michel Vaillant, whose adventures have captured the imagination of many fans around the world since 1957.
Michel Vaillant is a French comic series, created in 1957 by Jean Graton. Michel Vaillant embodies an ideal that of the motor sport champion who is simultaneously honest, loyal and brave. A member of team Vaillante, founded by his parents, he is an exceptional driver who does not hesitate to put himself in danger in order to help others, denounce an injustice or unmask cheats and crooks. Jean Graton, who is always well-informed about the latest technological innovations and very much acquainted with the world of racing circuits and teams, has been able to develop a popular series, which has been and continues to be a reference for generations of boys with a passion for motor sports. A series that today has more than 70 albums and a lot of other stories.
